replace merc shift link roller pin on int shaft?

Hi guys, has anyone ever replaced these? Its the roller that goes intot he lower cable slot for shifting, I had to heat up mine to remove the set screw and the roller thingy overheated and dropped off -

trying to decide whether to fab up something with ss bolts and a bushing and put a nylon roller in. yes I can order a new one but im one of those ppl who doesnt mind trying to fox something first.

also need to replace the seal on intermediate shift shaft - the OD on the gimble ring seems larger than the seal that fell down the shaft - is it possible the PO installed the kit and used on old type seal?

dont have a pic unfortunately - my ujoints bellows are very dry but had some sea water in shift arm area -
