Hello everyone. I have a 1999 Ranger Comanche with original engine Mercury 225 EFI. It's starting to be a little unreliable so I'm thinking of updating a little. I've considered a 4 stroke but it wouldn't look right on this particular boat (I'd trade for a newer hull before I'd put a 4 stroke on it). I like the late model 2 stroke Pro XS's, like a low hour 2017-18 year model is in my budget. Will put the older style red stripe decals on because I love them and want to keep the original look of my boat.
I have a 2018 Pro XS located and was wondering how everyone feels about this particular motor. I expect mpg to be better and hope to wake this boat up a little as my old engine seems to not have the punch it used to. I'm a Mercury man and want to stick to Mercurys only. Advice on if this is a good idea??? Thanks in advance.
