Replace oil injection lines with rubber hose?

Since some on here blew there motor from a oil injection line getting brittle and cracked while running, I figure I would check mine. I followed the fuel line to the T and seen the clearish oil tube running up, and one comming from the oil tank on the motor. The smaller one on the T was very brittle and cracking. I pulled it off and took it to auto zone and got rubber hose, i guess its like fuel hose to fit the T and from the oil tank. Will this work better then the ones that were there?

Thanks

Just check at the point of purchase and they should be able to tell you if the hose is oil resistant or not

The bigger hose I got for the tank line is a 50 psi fuel/emission line. Looks like its semi braided. The smaller line for the T doesnt look like its braided, but both are thick rubber hoses.

Re: Replace oil injection lines with rubber hose?

So did anyone ever replace these hoses with different hoses then what was originally on? I have a few different sizes of line, and all of them are braided. I found a smaller size hose at work that was braided and got some of that. All of them are heavy duty 50psi fuel lines. I hope they will be ok to use for the oil injection lines. They were only on with plastic clips so obviously they dont have alot of pressure going through them, or they would have been hose clamped. I was thinking of using small hose clamps anyways for extra security. Im still hesitant on using this stuff, even though it looks like its a few times stronger then the clear plstic non-braided line I pulled off. Another thing im worried about is maybe the inside diameter of these new hoses may be slightly off then what was originally on. Would that make a difference? Maybe slighty smaller or slightly bigger?

Thanks for all your help!! Im ready to install these lines, just want to get your guys opinions before I go ahead.

Why run 2 threads on the same subject? Replace the lines with the OEM and then you know you have the right hose. NUFF said!

Because the OEM lines are flimsy, and heard alot of people blow there engines because of it. I want to upgrade or make them last longer, be more durable. I didnt realize i had 2 threads, i think the other ones were where to get those lines.

I doubt that is true. OEM hoses are very good. I understand that original OEM hoses on very old motors did not hold up to the newer gas mixes containing ethanol and such. They got brittle and broke. Any OEM hose you buy now would not have such a problem. I personnaly would not risk choosing a non-OEM hose and perhaps choosing the wrong type of hose for the application. OEM hoses don't cost that much considering what is at risk.

Just my opinion though...
