Greetings,

Just found a leak in the rubber hump hose that connects the exhaust manifold to the downpipe that runs to the sterndrive. It has a hole in it and was leaking water/exhaust. I toke it apart by removing the metal elbow from the manifold , then pulling up and removing the rubber hump hose. The inside of the hump hose was CAKED in garbage, the engine only has 30 hours though, but has had very little use over the years, and was run with a misfire for awhile (until recently fixed with a new cap,rotor)...is this normal?

Also this rubbery piece that is inserted into the manifold elbow looks to be in poor shape. is that replaceable or do i need a whole need elbow? (is this elbow called a riser???)

And final, but MAIN question, any tips on re-installing the new hump hose? or just slide it on, and tighten everything down? Need a new manifold gasket? or is the stock metal one re-usueable? Should i use any sealant????

THANKS GUYS!!!!

Volvo made the GS series for a lot of years and there were differences. Need the full model number, or the serial number of your engine.
Read this Volvo service bulletin. Should help.
