I need to replace the original Teleflex rack and pinion steering rack on my 17? bowrider.
It has a mercruiser 3.0LX Alpha 1 Gen 2 without power steering.
I would like to spend a little more for the Teleflex/seastar No Feed Back (NFB) option but the descriptions are a little confusing.
The NFB description reads:
NFB Rack single-cable systems are suitable for most single-station boats with a single nonpower-assisted outboard engine up to V-6 and minimal engine flutter or steering instability. NFB Rack accepts wheels up to 16?.
The cheaper system that is not NFB description reads in part:
Suitable for use on outboard and non power assisted stern drive boats.
So if I?m reading this right? I can not use the NFB rack?
Looks like the Uflex rack ZeroTorque helm option is compatible.
The Uflex description reads:
Recommended for outboard applications or non power assisted sterndrives where there is limited space behind the dash, the Accutech features a patented spring clutch of the G88NR helm eliminates continuous loads while not actively changing direction.
Anyone have thought or opinions on teleflex uflex NFB Etc ?
