replace throttle cable

Tried search but didn't find an answer. I have a 1988 johnson 25 tiller. The throttle cable broke. Dealer wants $250 to replace. Can this be done by a person with normal skills and tools? Thanks

I have never done a Johnnyrude, but I have replaced cables on Mercs. Not real difficult at all. Takes a few minutes to split control, and install new cable. Make sure you know how to adjust them after replacement.

BTW- Your dealer is gouging, IMHO.

Yes it can I would suggest a service manual to help along the way but not really necessary.
