I am in the process of replacing the Trim hoses on My SX-M Outdrive. The problem is that I have ordered the parts as below, but If I install them as on the exploded view, the STBD side hoses are not fitting properly (nearly kinked). 3853855 is installed up in the manifold and on top of the cylinder and 3857524 down in the manifold and lower on the cylinder. Is this exploded view correct?( STBD side hose on top of the cylinder = upper fitting in the manifold, lower fitting in the cylinder = lower fitting in the manifold)

Also feels a bit strange that on the port side the hose 3853857, which is installed on top of the cylinder, goes on the lower fitting in the manifold.

Please advice how the hoses should be installed on the manifold?

Thanks in advance!

Here is a picture of the circuit diagram of a Mercruiser, which is totally different than on the exploded view from VP SX-M, as the lines are not "crossing eachother" inside the manifold.. Makes me even more confused

Now with two pictures where 3857524 is on lower fitting on manifold and lower fitting in cylinder. The hose gets kinked and it's close to impossible to install hose 3853855 on the cylinder (picture2)

This picture is with the hoses switched on the cylinder.Fits a lot better but is direct opposite from the exploding view. If anyone knows how this should be installed, please advice. The boating season in europe is very short and I have spent hours to investigate this during today. Would be very happy if someone could check and perhaps take a picture on how the hoses are installed

Thanks alot! This proves that the exploded view is mis leading:On the right side(stbd) the lower fitting in the manifold goes on the top fitting on the cylinder, and the upper fitting in the manifold goes to the lower fitting in the cylinder..

Thanks again!

The project continues...

I ended up attaching the hydraulic trim lines acc to the manual.(See explode view on my first post),because I got the hoses to fit and sit quite ok

What happened:The left side(port) ram is not moving anywhere when I trim the outdrive up and down.Stbd side ismoving freely.

If I run thru the pivot shaft thru the outdrive and try to trim up,the trim pump sounds very nasty.

Could this be a air lock in the system?Ihave replaced the rams and hoses..Or are the hoses installed wrong?

Thanks
