Replaced coupler and cracked the ECM , now smoke from carb

I cracked the ignition module when installing my motor after a coupler change. I replaced the module and now I the engine starts ... sputters and blows out smoke out of the carb. Dizzy did not move during the install so I wouldnt think it could be timing, Do I have to retime the engine with the new control module?

No, but consider you may have cracked the dist cap.

Turned out to be a shorted tach causing a misfiring.
