Hay fellas, anyone out there ever replace there own prop hub? Is it just a matter of pressing the old one out and pressing the new one in, or is there some trick to it that makes it worth taking to the prop shop?

The 30 ton press I have access to. Does anyone know enough about Michigan Wheel props for Mercury outboard to tell me which insert I need to order off the Mercury Parts Express web site? It’s for a 1986 V-150 outboard and has the numbers 031024 next to the size which is 14.5 X 17.

I believe you also need a sort-of funnel fixture to squeeze the oversized rubber into the undersized socket. Otherwise you just shear rubber off.
