Re: Replacement bolt 91 Evinrude 115

Looks like the URL didn't work right. The OMC part number is 305652. I hope I can get them at a local real hardware store. If not, I hope I can find a place to order online. Not sure but, I think it's metric 11mm head. Don't know how metric threads are defined.

Thanks,
John

Its not metric. Should be 7/16" head.

I used a 7/16 to get the outer bolts out, the middle bolt, one that was slightly rounded, I used an 11mm to get it out. I agree that 7/16 seems right, but since I couldn't find any docs I thought it might be metric.

If there not S/S , they ought to be.

All bolts should be S/S.

A friend of mine who rebuilds engines suggested putting "easy out" on all of the bolts prior to the re-install. Any one done this on an outboard? He said he uses it religously to prevent engine bolts that are susceptable to high heat from getting frozen.

OMC gasket sealer works great to keep bolts from corroding in place. Antisieze compounds and made with aluminum or copper powder immulsion with light grease. I'm leary of causing bi-metal electrolosis with those compounds.

The stuff is actually called "Anti-sieze" not easy out. My bad.

If you haven't found your bolt yet...there's an outboard shop in Fort Worth carries OMC parts - 1 block west of I35 just south of Berry - Fore & Aft Marine - may have it or can get it.

Thanks jtexas! I haven't had time to go look. I haven't used them before but, they are about it in Tarrant County for OMC stuff. Probably will be priced like it too. 8) I hope to have time to put everything back together this weekend. Worst case I can put the slightly rounded bolt in the starboard side hole since it is easiest to get to should I have to replace later.
