replacement carb doesn't work correctly

I installed a new carb for my outboard. It's not working very well. What things should I check? The motor starts and idles well, but when I work the throttle, it want's to bog down. I have heard talk of adjusting the mix setting on the carb.

It sounds like the idle mixture is lean, try to richen the mixture 1/4 to 1/2 turn.
