Just got a 1989 Maxum with a 125hp Force. Guy lost the keys and so I am forced to use a screwdriver as a key. Tried to pickup a generic Walmart ignition switch with 4 posts. Problem is the Maxum/Force switch has 6 posts/7 wires connecting it.
1. Has anyone wired (fudged) a standard switch in place of the original?
2. Where can I pickup a Force/Maxum switch? and any idea how much?

As always, thanks for the help.

An Evinrude/Johnson switch will work, get old style that has push key for choke.

How will I wire up my choke since it's a seperate switch?

If you want push for choke on that switch, connect the choke wire to termial C on switch.
