Replacement Upper gear case

I have a 1974 Bayliner 2050 Admirality Cuddy with a 5.0 Ford I/O and an OMC drive. At some point the upper gear case apparently got broken, starting from around where the upper gear housing bolts into the intermediate housing, the round "bung" that the lower unit pivots on. The crack is on the right side, standing outside the boat looking into it from behind. Long story short...I need a replacement housing and I am having trouble finding any. I was told that the case itself is the same for 400/800 all the way until somewhere around '78...and it is an electric shift lower unit. Any help finding the replacement case would be great.

Thanks in advance

Re: Replacement Upper gear case

I would love to send the few pics I have....but it tells me my file size is too big. Please advise me on how to make them smaller and I would gladly share the pics...

Re: Replacement Upper gear case

I got the model and serial numbers off the lower unit.

Model No. - 980707
Serial No. - w68363

Can these housing be welded? Anyone that can let me know about used parts...I would greatly appreciate it.

Here is an attempt at a pic...(thanks for the help Lyndy!! :D)
