5007420 is the correct part number.
Before you buy new, try tightening the torx screws all around the front and back of the pump. Tight + 1/8th turn.
Retry it then.

Re: Replacemente VRO Evinrude Intruder 175

the reference # you listed is for the bracket on a 94/95 year model motor, here is a page that may help. http://www.boats.net/parts/search/B...ERV 1994/FUEL BRACKET & COMPONENTS/parts.html

I guess you are talking to me????

I will repeat....the correct part number for the current OMS pump to replace his is 5007420. 5007420 IS NOT a bracket. The 5007422 is a non-oil injection pump.
No doubt about it.

http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/B-5007420.html

I will add this info...since we don't know for sure...he never says the year of his motor. The four wire pump is 5007420. The three wire is 5007423.

Ahhh....I see where my confusion on this comes from...the part number quoted in the OPs first post, 435596, comes up as a "no hit" on Crowley's website.
No such part number...until you look further...

Anyway it could be either the 5007420 or the 5007423 depending on year model, and how many wires, 4 or 3.

Try tightening those screws first. Air leaks will play havoc on the proper operaton of that pump. I have seen pumps work just fine after the screws were tightened. Do it evenly, so you don't warp the plastic housing.

Thanks for all of your help guy's, I believe that engine has at least 10 to 15 yrs, but I don't know for sure the year it was manufactured.
Hope this input helps to ensure that we find the right part!

Once again I thank you for your time

Rob

The price should be around 375.00 or so.
That might not be your
problem. I have a 2001 200 hp that smokes bad. I been through all the lines and checked for air leaks . Took the pump off and took it apart and everything was fine. So I pluged the oil side and mixed 1 gal of fresh fuel with 21/2 ounces or oil and tryed it that way and it still smoking bad.
now I am thinking its not firing hot enough or something.
good luck let me know if you find the problem I'll do the same.

Re: Replacemente VRO Evinrude Intruder 175

yea Das I was talking about the original post ..not yours. But the number 435596 came up a a fuel pump bracket for 94/95 year model 150/175, so I assume that would be the year model of the motor. If we had a model # we could tell. but I think the 7420 is the 3 wire and the 7423 is the 4 wire and the 7422 will work with either if you are going to premix.

Re: Replacemente VRO Evinrude Intruder 175

0435596 is the early premix only pump now superseded by 5007422.

All of the three wire motors need to be upgraded to four wire to have all of the alarms; 5007423 includes the wiring upgrade.

I believe that all of the 94 and 95 V6 motors already had the 4 wire harness, so that they should use 5007420.

Re: Replacemente VRO Evinrude Intruder 175

why don't you people use the real website for Johnson/Evinrude motors. then you cut down on confusion. there is even a little magnifing glass you can click on, that will give you compatable part numbers. this is the correct place to look up diagrams.

TD, I hope you see this...

I know about shop.evinrude.com, but I have not had ANY luck using it to search for individual part numbers. I see no place to search for a specific number. Using Crowley or bestboatparts.com , for instance, input 5007420, and it will come back as a hit, and show the old, equivalent numbers.
So, when searching for known, real, good part numbers, I use some of the others...like Crowley, and bestboatparts.com. It this case, with part number 435596, both of thoes sites came up "no hit", so I assumed the OP input a bogus number in his first post.

Then, I suggested the 5007420 four wire pump and linked to the maxrules.com page which shows a very good table. The OP could count the wires on his pump and pick from there.

If I have the model number of the engine, I absolutely use shop.evinrude.com as the first choice.

Maybe I am not searching properly on the BRP site, but I see nowhere to look up by part number on that site.

That is why I use other sites.

Re: Replacemente VRO Evinrude Intruder 175

Not to beat a dead horse, but that's what I do...:)

Look at this site:

http://epc.brp.com/login.aspx?Retur...ealerlocator=no&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

This site is almost useless. Go ahead and enter the site, and look for the Advanced lookup function. Put in 5007420 and it "no hits". I know and you know that is a valid number. So why does it "no hit"? There are also some neat features, like a "where used" button that will list all applications the part number exists in. However that doesn't work half the time. Sometimes does, sometimes doesn't.
Now this is an official BRP site dated to 2010, and it just doesn't work. There is nowhere to report problems to them either.

So they have some real poor site designers up at BRP, and again is a reason I turn to other sites for lookup.
