I'm replacing my 1990 oil injected yamaha 115 with a 2000 115 non oil injected and noticed that the 2000 wiring harness on the motor has 1 big round connector and 1 4pin connector while the old motor has 1 big round connector and 2 4pin connectors. Do i need to buy a new harness to go up to the key and guages or can i use the same one and omit the one connector? I really dont want to pull a new harness hehe.

Thanks

hello
the big 10 pin connector from the keyswitch is the same. the lead from the remote oil tank to the engine that has black/red, blue, brown and black wires wont be used. the other that has the orange and gray wire is for the trim leads to the multifunction tach and will require an adaptor. they changed some of the connector shapes in 1995.
good luck and keep posting

Thanks Rodbolt you hit the nail on the head!! I started looking twice at it and am pondering the thought of converting the oil injection over to that motor but that system of mine has been injecting for 14 years i think it maybe getting tired but want to investigate how the pump works i mean if its mechanical or not.

Anyway thanks! :D
