replacing 200 vro pump with standard 140

I was woundering if I can use my 1977 140 fuel pump on my gt 200. I already premix. I tried useing one of the two pumps from a 83 200, but after gettting on plane for a minute, ran out of fuel. Or can anyone recemend a pump? Thanks

Keep in mind that when you run out of fuel you also run out of oil. I doubt that 2 of the standard old style pumps would supply enough fuel for a V6 looper. The pump that supplies the most fuel is the OMS style. If it were mine I'd stick with it.

I bet you are right. I have my eye on a 88 evenrude 225 for parts. As far as I know, they are same motor. Thanks.
