I have a '88 90 HP (J90TLCCA) that needs a new VRO pump. The pump is leaking and the housing is cracked.

Can I replace this with a 4 wire pump, and if so, how do I connect the wires? Is the harness different? Also, what part number should I be looking for?

I realize that I can eliminate the VRO, but I would rather get a new pump than premix.

Thanks,

-John

Re: Replacing 3 wire VRO

purchase the correct kit from a dealer and it even comes with instructions, wiring and the correct connectors. you will have to change the pins from the 3 wire engine side amphenol plug to the new four wire plug supplied in the kit.

The correct "VRO" kit for your motor is #5004559.
