I hope this isn't off topic for this forum, but can anyone give me an idea of what year and HP Mercury propellers are interchangeable? I've heard that 70-300 HP props are the same. Is this true, and if so, what years? Thanks

Not quite, 70-150HP inline motor props are the same. 150+hp v engines share props with Mercruiser Alpha 1.

Same prop on a 70 as a 300? Doubt it!

Inline-4 65-85 and inline-6 90-150 use the same props and some early Black Max's. The next family larger fits V-6s and MerCruiser Alphas. Then come Bravo props. I wouldn't consider anything smaller than a Bravo prop for a 300.

Now, the smaller props will fit the larger propshafts, but the hub is so small that exhaust leaks out to the blades and all you push is foam. However, early bassboaters found that they could be used to improve holeshot. So the same prop that fits a 65 inline-4 could be used on your 200. But that would be about the limit, and it would depend on the boat.
