i hope i can describe this right. i have a 15" fiberglass closed bow boat with a 50hp chrysler motor on it. got it from a friend and have replaced the deck but now have to put seats in it, i just dont know how high the seat should be off the deck. if i put it at normal height then my knees will hit the steering wheel so the seat has to be low and there is a foot board under the bow to put your feet against but that just seems like it would be awkward getting in and out of the seat. any suggestions? thank you!

You might try and move it back just a little for more knee room .. I have mine a bit to close .. I like to stand at the wheel and I always end up with one foot on the floor and one knee in the seat ... Just move it around until ya feel comfortable ...

Yep ^^^

If you are planning to use pedestal seats and bases, get a swivel and slide seat mount. Just make sure the seat, pedestal, mount and floor plate are helm rated. Another option would be to get a height adjustable post plus the swivel/slide......
