Replacing Co-Pilot Foot Control

I have 2003 Minn Kota Power Drive Remote Co-Pilot, 12V, 55# trust, non-sonar,trolling motor and the foot control was stolen while I am on a fishing trip to Toledo Bend. All the Minn Kota dealers down here say I have to buy a complete new trolling motor, because all of the electronics are contained in the foot control. Surely, there is someway to buy a new foot control and program the remote to the present motor like you can a romote control on a garage door opener. Is all this correct? If not, is there someway I can quickly get the motor to operate or somewhere that I can purchase a foot control quickly? Thanks very, very much. I'm desparate!

Paul,<br /><br />Do you have the wireless Copilot remote? If the foot control was stolen but you have the copilot, can't you use the wireless remote to control the motor until you get a new foot control? I have the same setup and often use the TM all day with the wireless copilot, forgetting to connect the foot control.<br /><br />Kalan

Thanks to all of you for helping me. I now have a replacement. Mid Lake Marine at Many, LA on the LA side of Toledo Bend Lake were very knowledgeable amd obtained my footpedal overnight for $68.00 plus shipping. MinnKota answered me quickly. So, thanks again to all for your help because all of you who answered my request were correct.

Joe, I love the trolling motor. I bought the motor when I purchased my 18 1/2' Tracker Targa Boat last year. I should have also paid an additional amount and upgraded to the co-pilot model. It is great to put the remote control on your wrist, fishing rod or anyplace you like and steer the boat from anywhere in the boat. I believe Cabela's is now offering some free gift incentives when you buy a Minn Kota from them. I believe the autopilot model, 55# trust, 54" shaft, is $799.00, plus the additional UPS shipping charges for the long package length. I hope this helps!
