When i go to replace my coils on my 6hp, where is a good website to get them. Can i possibly get used ones, or re-built ones?

If only one is bad, do i still need to replace the other one? Thanks in advance!

You will only need to replace the ignition coil that is defective.I have found eBay to be a good place to source genuine OMC parts at good prices but make sure and buy from people with a good feedback record 97.5% and above is usually alright.

Re: replacing coils???

The Sierra coils from iBoats are every bit as good as OMC (Bomby) replacement coils. That's not true of all parts but it is true of the coils. This from guys who rebuild Johnson/Evinrudes for a living. There was a discussion of factory replacement vs aftermarket parts a while back on this board.

The sierra coils I got (from NAPA), are actually made in Germany. I can't fault the build quality at all.
