ok so I am looking to replace my engine as cheap as possible for the time being, I am thinking of picking up this 350 and installing it. I have never done anything this large mechanic wise. Hoew hard of a job is it. I know i will have to reuse most my other parts on my existing motor and change freeze plugs. BUt head and motor should be fine correct? I looked but cant find any great postings of anyone doing this. I am just not wanting to bite off more then i can chew. I am real good at doing things as long as i have direction. Any help is apreciated. My engine now is a mercruiser 260 from a chaparral 198 xlc. Thanks again

Re: Replacing engine

Do some searching and reading here - TONS of good information (everything you need to know really), I would also budget for new exhaust manifolds if yours are old - be a real shame to put a new engine in and then ruin it with manifold failure... Good luck with it!
