Hey there folks, I have a 2000 Seaswirl 195 BR with a 4.3 Volvo V6 and need to replace the original trim/tilt guage. When I recently bought the boat the previous owner had removed the guage in an attempt to find why it was not working and subsequently lost it. I ordered a new guage and sending unit and am led to believe that it is relatively simple to install/replace. There is however one little problem and that is - I am not at all mechanically minded! A local boat shop told me to remove the old sending unit by "unplugging" the unit's wires from behind the engine and ensuring that I tie a pull through wire to the end before pulling the sending unit out (this to ensure that I can pull the new sending unit wire back through the hole in the transom). Sounds fairly simple except for one issue that I foresee myself having a problem with and that is how to locate the so called "plug" at the back of the engine?!?! Any ideas out there or will it just be a good idea to have a marine tech do it for me?

PS: I am a fairly new member and just wanted to say that I love the forum and really appreciate the posted threads that I have interest in and the feedback that they generate.

Basically, once you locate the sender, just follow the wires up to the engine compartment until you get to the plug. Really will be no problem, even for a novice mechanic...
