How do I go about putting a deck in the front of my boat? I have a Smokercraft deep v 17' fishing boat. I have a live well that sits on top of the floor on the right side of the boat. What I want to do is to move this live well to the center of the boat and to build it into a deck., as well as raising the front pole seat on the same deck. How can I do this? Do I need to remove the front portion of the deck? How do I attach framework for deck? can it be attached to the ribs of the boat the way the floor was attached? Please advise if this is even a wise idea.

Thanks

Re: Replacing floor with a Deck

Don't know the smokercraft so probably will not be of much help. If you can attach the framework for the new deck to the ribs, that would seem to be the way to go. If not you can glass the frame to the side of the hull (woops - - I am assuming that this is a glass boat).
