I have a 1989 Alpha 1 gen 1 and I cannot seem to find the grease fitting to attach to in order to fill the gimball bearing. I've looked with a bright flashlight and felt around with my hands to no avail...can anybody provide a photo or some guidance?

Also, I will be replacing the bellows as well, I don't need to worry about alignment if I am just doing a transom seal kit (bellows and gimball) install do I?

OK, the manual made it look like it was a 6 o'clock to me, I will explore 3 o'clock vigorously thanks!

Its possible that the gimbal bearing was replaced with an updated one that is sealed (can't be lubricated). In those bearings, they come with a plug kit to replace the grease nipple.

You need an alignment bar to line up the gimbal bearing to the flywheel coupler, you also need a bearing driver to drive in the gimbal, a seal driver to drive in the bellows seal, an exhaust expansion tool to install the exhaust bellows.

I managed to make all these tools except the alignment bar. You can buy an aftermarket bar for about half the price of a Mercruiser one.
