Replacing Motor

I have finally gotten my motor rebuilt and almost ready to install. It is a 4.3 mercruiser in a 1992 Wellcraft. Before I put motor in are there any other items in housing that may need checked such as gimbal bearing. I have read a little about the bearing and was wondering how to check or replace while I have motor out. Are there any other items to check before I get motor back in.

gimbal bearings are changed without touching the motor, install the motor , check /adjust engine alignment,
