Re: Replacing Old Steering cable
I just replaced one on a 24' Fisher pontoon and I found that the best way to get the right cable is to get the number off of the cable. If it is a teleflex and most likely it is, the number is molded into the cable but it might be hard to find. I had to read mine with a magnifying glass. The number told the dealer exactly what I needed as far as length and design. I then shopped that number around on the internet as well as local dealers and I found a dealer who ordered it, had it dropped shipped to me and charged me $50 less than I could find it anywhere. Also, you will see steering cable kits that include the helm and if you don't need that you will save $.
