Replacing rear engine mounts...

So, I have my 92 4.3LX GenII motor out while doing a full resto on my boat... And need to replace the rear engine mounts (the rubber inserts that mount into the coupler that mount onto the internal gimbal plate). One of them tore when removing the engine, so I bought replacements. BUT, I can't figure out how to get the old ones out! Those suckers are fused in there. I imagine it's an issue of the aluminum sleeve against the steel casing... But who knows.

Anyone have any tricks?

Thanks!

Nevermind, soaked it for a few hours in penetrating fluid, then built a press out of some spare all thread, socket, PVC, and out they came. :)

Congratulations hangdogger512 on your home grown tool. I did basically the same w/sockets. Use the same setup to press the new ones back in, but push with a socket that's just smaller than the mount. Be sure to start the mount square. Press them until they fully seat in the top of the hsg or you will loose alignment when they seat themselves
