Hello all. I have a merc 140 1980-81 model year beginning serial of 574.... I've replace the stator and the trigger an will be doing linc and sync when my carb parts get in. My question is this, does it matter who the stator is aligned undernieth the flywheel? and if it does, how is it supposed to be aligned or where can I find that info? My seloc doesn't specify if it needs to be on in any order. I haven't it on so that the wires exit from convient location to the switchboxes. Thanks for any assistance.

Re: replacing stator

The stator can go on any way except upside down. it only produces electricity and has nothing to do with timing
