Replacing steering cable, numbers on old cable are:

Hi guys. Just picked up a nice little 88 17 ft Renken bowrider with a 3.0 OMC sterndrive.... Needs a steering cable though.
My question is this... I took the numbers off the existing cable ( still installed in boat) figuring I could match it up pretty easily.
The numbers on the cable are
Morse E360019
166 IN
3945

Now I know that Teleflex has the replacement cable for the 360019, right here on I boats. My question is on the length, I am thinking that the "166 IN" is inches which works out to 13.8 feet or so, which I guess means a 14 ft cable.
I know I should have measured the boat and there is a formula to determine the cable needed but I was pressed for time, the boat is up at the lake and I am not, so I just scratched down the numbers and here I am.

Anyone able to answer this for me? Much appreciated....

If the old cable fit the new one should too. The 166 at the end of the model number is the length in inches.

Go to www and find the Morse/Teleflex site. They'll fix you up with the info you have. On my cable, the number was superceded with another number. Seems my cable was prone to fail so they redesigned it. The new cable works great. Then you can come back to iboats and buy it if they have it.
