Replacing stubborn Alpha One Gimbal Bearing - am I missing something?

Lost my drive coupler last week, and looks like my gimbal bearing needs replacing while I'm in there. I am using a 3-jaw slide hammer and it's not budging.

I don't see the 'dimple' that shows where the grease fitting needs to line up on the gimbal bearing. I'm wondering if there is another part I need to remove before I can knock the gimbal bearing out? I put a red arrow on the picture pointing at what looks like another piece that may be in the way of the actual bearing. Is that what is preventing the bearing from coming out?

I watched a YouTube video of the removal process and the guy knocked his out with one or two whacks, I'm not sure why mine is being difficult.

Boat is a 1986 Sunbird with a 3.0L 140 Mercruiser and Alpha One drive

Thanks for the help!

If the bearing doesn't come straight out after the first couple of wacks it can **** slightly. Knock it back it to straighten it up and try again

Mercruiser went to sealed bearings and started recommending installers install with the dimple facing forward to hide it. Silly really.
