Re: REPLACING THE PORT STARTER

Twin Engines are a lot of fun when pushing the throttle forward, especially twin 454's.But generally working on them is a pain, expensive or both if you have to pay someone to do it.

Since you asked 'how difficult is it ?' I think I can assume the engines are so close together that removing the exhaust manafolds is out of the question.

Maybe post a picture, but you may have to pull one of the engines to replace the starter. In some boats this isn't really ALL that bad. Some boats ... $$$$$

DHP

Re: REPLACING THE PORT STARTER

i just did the manifolds/risers my self it was interesting to say the least.so pullling the manfold should not be a problem.my problem is when i turn the key nothing. checked the battery they are brand new when turn the starboard key starts right up.sometimes if i rev the stbd engines it will start the port.I am going to trouble shoot over the weekend via DonS TROUBLE
SHOOTING LINK VERY INFORMATIVE.

it is good when you share a boat with someone
you can trust because @3.89 a gallon it is only half.

Thanks
Tino
