replacing the seat cover

I purchased a new seat cover and wanted to see if anyone had any tips on how to install it. I know I need stainless steel staples, but when I look on the bottom of my current seat, the staples are half as wide as the stainless ones I've got. Are the ones I have OK? Also, will they go through the hard plastic? Also, I take it all I need to do is remove my current seat cover, correct? I do not leave it on, right? Thanks...

NO<br />LEAVE THE OLD COVER ON. <br />Start at the back and do the back edge of the seat. stretch the cover and staple down the front. then do one side then the other side stretching it as you need. You can use a hair drier to soften up the vinyl. I woudl say use a heat gun but most people tend to use it wrong and melt the vinyl so use a hair drier.<br />Youll need a good staple gun. I usually use a air powered one.<br />You can take the seat and cover to a upholstery shop and they will probably do it for 20$<br />Rob

pay a shop, the stainless staples won't work in a regular gun I do a lot of seats and have a special pnumatic gun just for those staples. it's easy to do with the correct equipment and the shop will have it done in a few minutes meaning it won't cost a lot of money to have them put it on.
