On My OMC Cobra 2.5L with a 3.0 out drive, 1986
I finally found the slight lean from the transom.
It is the housing for the shift cable.
The crimp to the hose failed.
I pulled the motor to get to the transom bracket and gimbal.
Bought a 1 5/16" crow foot 1/2" drive.
Attempting to do so mounted.
I have tried Dry Ice on the nut, and lightly heating the bracket.
And boy is that nut stuck. I used a 20" bar and She will not let go.
The nut is SS and the bracket is Aluminum.
Now I am pulling the **** cable to get a 6 point socket on the nut.
Before I go to a impact drive.....
I am concerned that I might crack the bracket.
Mindful that it is soft metal.
Reluctantly.. I will pull the whole thing off to get at it better, and or take it to a machinist.
Any advice or techniques wold be appreciated.

James
