Replacing Transducer bracket

I have a Trophy 1802 walkaround. The transducer bracket to my Garmin 160 fishfinder broke. I have a new bracket but my boat is in the water. Can I get a way with swapping the bracket with it in the water or am I going to have to get the boat out of the water? The next time the boat comes out I plan on putting a mounting board for the transducer to avoid this problem.

Thanks for your input,
Tom

Re: Replacing Transducer bracket

I would definitely pull the boat out and do it dry. You never know what unforeseen problems you will run into. I`m assuming the transducer screws go into and through the transome. Then you pull the old one off in the water and boat takes on water until new one is installed, no way. Pull the boat.
You will want to use a marine grade silicone to seal around new mount anyway.
