Boatyard broke off one rudder - and said nothing - so we want to put in a new transom hung rudder assembly, the whole assembly with mounting plate. This will be a replacement part from the OEM (Marine Hardware). The boat will be hauled, but is this reasonably considered DIY? What sorts of issues might we encounter? Thinking mostly of possible issues with the transom condition around the cutout. No reason to suspect issues, just wondering what might bite us. We have up to two days in the yard ideally, with a few more if needed.
