What is the best way to replace trim and tilt hoses from the motor/pump block to the block under boat. I have a mercruser 5.7L alpha 1. Thanks for all info and help.

make sure the hoses are free to move inside the boat
remove 2 nuts on block, lower block from transom, remove old lines, install new gasket, install new lines, bolt up block. replace lines,

Re: replacing trim and tilt hoses

I just did it this spring. I tied a piece of string to both of my hoses before I pulled them out to use for pulling them back through. They have to be pulled from outside the boat. You can't get the longer 90's through the hole in the transom. I also marked one of the old lines with a colored zip tie as well as where it connects on the block and the new hose so I didn't get them reversed when I hooked them up. The inside of my connecting block had quite a bit of gunk inside it also. It cleaned up good with brake cleaner so I could get my new gasket to seal. Good Luck!
