replacing tube from oil pump to fuel pump, bleed?

I have a 1989 90hp 3 cyl, 2 stroke Mariner outboard.

I am replacing the tubing between the oil pump and fuel pump. I was thinking of attaching the new tube to the oil pump and then fill it as well as possible with oil, and then attach the other end to the fuel pump? Would this be sufficient? I have attached a pic of the area. There is a little tubing still attached to the oil pump, and you can see where it should connect to the fuel pump.

Any advice, ideas are welcome.

When i replaced the lines on my 88 Merc 70hp 3cyl. I didnt bleed it. I added some oil into the fuel tank,just to be safe. It bled itself out.

Good tip. I ended up changing ALL oil lines (they cracked the minute I inspected them further) including the oil tank (float didn't work anyway), it bled itself relatively fast, and all is good again.

I wondered about this same thing when I replaced mine recently.. but it slowly bled itself. Now I have a little bit of a leak somewhere I am tracking down with clean paper towel......
