Replacing under-cowl fuel lines for carb and fuel pump, tips?

Do most people just use regular fuel line? Or is there a kit of pre-bent lines that I should be using? Recommendations?

Are there pre-formed / pre-bent replacement fuel hoses for the carb and fuel pump? I'm replacing the fuel lines under the cowl of my 78 85hp Johnson and there are some very sharp turns. Especially the intake and outlet side of the fuel pump. I'm using regular fuel line from the auto parts store, and I'm nervous that I'm exceeding the recommended bend radius and am at risk for kinking, especially on the intake of the fuel pump where the hose would be under suction.

You are correct to be cautious here. If you use normal "bulk" fuel hose under the cowling, it can be a problem. Bulk hose just does not like to be bent into a tight corner. If you bend it, it will kink-possibly leading to a lean fuel condition to the carbs. The factory heat-bends fuel lines for certain applications under the cowling. These are the hoses you need. All "special" hoses have actual specific part numbers. Non specific hoses are referred to as "bulk". So, get the factory parts diagram out and go looking for the hoses that have factory part numbers. Two different numbered hoses are listed on the intake manifold parts list. Also, two more numbered hoses appear on the fuel pump diagram. One is a "special" hose, the other is bulk (cut-to-lengh). Order these 3 special hoses and Bombardier will send you the latest 2014 versions of those hoses. The factory parts list website is: epc.brp.com

Thanks emd! I kept the little 90 degree elbow coming out of the fuel pump, I noticed that was still a part that can be purchased. I didn't look at the intake manifold hoses, I'll take a peek.
