Greetings,

Last night was an eventful evening, my steering cable snapped on me (luckily at slow speeds in the harbor) and then my engine decided that it didn't like trolling at slow speeds and overheated (see other post). I was able to splice the cable to get me thru the evening, but I want to fix this ASAP. My boat is a 14' 1961 Sea-Maid.

Anyway, my question is where do I find the proper cable so I can replace it on my boat. I-boats doesn't seemt to have it and I've done a few internet searches looking for it as well with no luck. I assume there is a specific stainless cable that should be used and that regular insulated wire should not be used. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Mike
