I have a 1994 200hp Johnson Ocean Runner and am considering repowering with a 150 HP E-Tec. The boat is a 94 Wellcraft V21 and has a dry weight of 2300 lbs. WOT runs about 42mph at best and am willing to accept less i.e. 35mph. Any thoughts or recommendations?

Unless you're lugging around some wet foam below deck, I'd think that 150 E-tech would push that boat just fine. Probably to your estimated 35 or so.

i currently have an eurostar-665 with the ficht ram 150. the boat is 22ft, a pilothouse and about 1450 kg (3000lbs). the evinrude pushes it easily to 40 mph by GPS ( 65 kmh) with 4 persons on board. light weigth even a little bit more. when it comes to power output i would be not surprized when your new direct injected etec would be equal or even outrun the old carbed 200, even with lower numbers on the paper.

My 21' v hull center console has a 150 2 stroke as its stock engine, and it does fine. It may be a little lighter than yours. For boats like than, top speed seldom matters anyway.
