repower 2o3 seaswirl

i need to repower my 1996 203 seaswirl its a 19 ft 95" beam c/w cubby dry weight 1850 lb without engine would like to change from current 140 evinrude to new e-tec 115 what do you think ?:

I think 115 would severely underpower that boat, Doug, but that is just based on the weight.

You need to find out the max recommended power by the maker. You will need 70% or more of that rated power to get satisfactory performance.

Doug, I have seen a 115V4 Johnny on that boat model, however it was a dual console, which may have been lighter. I have a 21 foot dual console Seaswirl with a '98 150V6 Johnny which has more than enough power.That e-TEC may be fine for your application. Don't expect 45+MPH, however.

captin thanks for the reply im not sure what you mean by a daul console i'm a boater /sports fisherman from vancover island bc canada .and have not heard that term.

Dual console is when there is a passenger seat, console and windscreen beside the pilot's helm and console with a walk through between. I guess your boat is a center console with walk around on both sides.
