I have a '91 Wellcraft 19' 192 Sport with a Volvo 4.3l/DP sterndrive. I have freeze damage from a couple years ago when I did not winterize in time :-(... so, I am looking to change out the motor and investigate if I can swap it with a 350? I am told the 350 will bolt right up to the DP. I wonder if the hull will support the extra weight without nosing the bow even further out of the water (how much more does the 350 weigh? - boat's dry weight is 2400 lbs.) and how much longer is the V8 than the V6 (will the new motor fit in the engine compartment)? Lastly, will I have to change gears in the sterndrive? (I have seen the 350/DP combination on other boats but not sure about the gears). I recently saw an online ad for an '89 192 Classic (same hull) that had a 350 in it so I know it can be done but none of this information was available.

Thanks in advance!
