Hi Guys
I'm repowering my 1988 Bayliner with a 5.7 litre vortec engine and need some advice on what distributor can I use, do I use a points set up due to the E.S.A module set up / motor interrupter for shifting in and out of gear.

Your advise and even a part number for this distributor would be great, thank you.

if everything that was on old motor still good, its a straight forward swap. except maybe new motor id not driled for fuel pump rod. and will need to run a low pressure carb fuel pump.

I have everything for the change out but want to renew the distributor but unsure of what one to purchase due to the E.S.A. module, do I stay with the points set up or can I go pointless.

I rang pertronix and they said they couldnt help me but then again he didnt know what a 5.7 litre was as well.

Could anyone give me a part number for this pertronix set up as I would be greatly appreciated.

You can hook up your current interrupt switch to attach to the distributor instead of triggering the ESA. DonS had provided a diagram in another thread at on time. You will have to do some rewiring. Can't remember if you need to supply a switched ground or 12V to cause the interrupt.

I did eventually purchase this distributor from Michigan Motorz and must say all the instructions are provided and easy steps on how to install it etc.
You no longer use the ESA or over stroke switch only the interrupter switch.

What a great product.
