Repowering?

Hello all,
I was thinking of repowering my boat which currently has Johnson outboards. I noticed on iboats that the Johnson outboard forum is always the most viewed of any other forum. Is this because more people own Johnson outboards or that they break down more often? Just curious.

Johnson/Evinrudes has 100 year history, we have motors still running that are 60 years old. Merc and the others are new kids on the block. there are more J/Es other there than any other.

Also, JohnnyRudes are more likely to be owned by DIY wrenches and are easier to maintain.

Easy to work on / maintain, great availability for parts when needed and proven reliability for the most part.
