not really a repair, more of maintenance. bought some 4200 today. i would like to reseal my transom bolts but pretty nervous (why fix what isn't broke...lol). so i guess i will remove the bolts one at a time and add the 4200 to the threads and reinstall them? i plan to wipe the area around the hole with alcohol to ensure a good seal with the 4200.

boat is still in storage but can anyone tell me whether a 1986 sea ray sundancer 250 has through holes or just screws threaded in? might remove the cleats and rail to reseal those but at a minimum i will spread sealer around them for now. not sure how hard it is to get to the cleat and rail bolts to do it properly

so that and fixing my power steering leak and buffing/waxing are my biggest projects in april

You will find some of each, major components are through bolted, small stuff may not be.

Not only do you want the sealer on the fasteners but also coating the hole. Depending on the hole size a toothpick or a bamboo skewer/chopstick to work the sealer all around the hole will do the trick.
