Resistor Plug Cap 4HP 4 Stroke

I have been repairing a Mercury [Tohatsu] 4HP 4 stroke with ignition issues and have found the plug cap to be faulty. My question is do I need a resistor cap for proper operation or will a standard non resistor cap be OK.

A non-resistor cap will work but RF noise will be radiated which may affect radio or other sensitive electronics operation.

Thanks for that. I'll start with a non resistor cap to get the motor sorted and once running import a new cap. Parts in NZ are hideous in price.
