Working on a 1977 Evinrude 55 horsepower that bogs down at wide open throttle. Motor is new to me was given NGK br7hs plugs. By dealer. Have been researching the older CD ignition system requires a non resistor style plug could this be my issue?

Explain in detail what your engine is doing.... "Working on a 1977 Evinrude 55 horsepower that bogs down at wide open throttle" doesn't tell us the story.

Is the engine running for 30 minutes or so, then suddenly dies out like it's starving for fuel? Possibly hesitating or dying out, bogging down when throttle is applied above idle? Whatever... A more detailed description of the problem is needed.

Use Champion QL77JC4 or L77JC4 spark plugs as the factory recommends, setting the gap at either .040 (strong spark) or .030 (long life).... The "Q" is a suppressor plug to help quiet noise/interference in electronic or electrical equipment.

Seems like when I run it in the water tank at home there is a lot of unburned fuel floating in the water

Keep your post together, all in one spot UNLESS a different problem pops up... don't be opening a new post on the same subject each day. Most of us are up in age and don't like to jump about too much. :)
