Resting My engine while towing

I have a 125HP Force outboard on my 18Ft Reinell, and everytime I go to pull out of my driveway (a slight downward angle), I have to tilt the motor up to get it off. There is a metal bracket (looks kind of like a U-bolt) that I put in the holes for tilting the motor that the motor can rest on and be slightly raised, but it doesnt raise it far enough. I need something to rest my motor on while I tow it that will allow the motor to rest higher without using the tilt/trim actuator. Anybody seen a product for this? By the way, this is my first post, but I have basically restored my boat with information i found on these forums -- So thanks everybody!

Yes, a transom saver is what you need.
Some come so you can adjust the length to what you need for proper clearance.

I use a transom saver to prevent what you are describing.....

You could also use a block/wedge of wood inbetween the transom clasp and the motor.........then just strap the motor down on top of it to keep it from falling out.

Thanks guys. It looks like the transom saver is exactly what I need, but the only problem I have is my boat hangs over the end of the trailer so i dont have access to a roller to rest it on. I have seen the bolt on transom savers, but they have an angle in them and Im not sure about resting a 125 HP motor on a bent piece of metal. Anybody actually used one of the angled ones? Thanks so much!

A properly constructed angled transom saver will be just fine.

I am currently using one of the angled ones on a 40HP Evenrude with no problems. I did have to drill a second hole in the mounting bracket to get it properly mounted, but that was it. Mine seems quite strong, but I do not know about a 125HP motor.

Mine is on a 140hp Johnson. No Problems.
