I'm upgrading my 1996 18' Sweetwater for a 2008 20' Avalon LS. The seats in the newer boat are in worse condition than on my Sweetwater but I like the layout, proportions, and it's got a low-hours 60hp 4-stroke Yamaha.

I'm going to have the seats & sun platform reupholstered locally and I don't really have any color choices in mind. Do light or darker colors hold up better to sun, dirt & mildew over the years?

Dark gets hot quickly. Had a bayliner with dark blue and on a partly cloudy day the sun could pop out an in minutes too hot to sit on and lean against. Always had to have a towel down.

On my last boat i had very similar colors to your pic, a touch more tan, with no issues.

I'm considering the dark brown (milk chocolate) as an accent color for the stripe below the back bolster.

The original palette is too bland, IMO. Needs some 'pop'.

Nothing after 2004 does well.

However Sunbrella Horizon vinyl has the best warranty for anti-pinking
